Charles Grass began dancing with his childhood friend the legendary Bob Fosse as The Riff Brothers. They traveled to a variety of entertainment venues to perform as the tap-dancing duo Bob & Charlie Riff!
Charles married the lovely, Rose Marie in 1954. She was a talented artist in her own right, as a coloratura soprano. Rose Marie and Charles first met during a stage production of The Bohemian Girl opera, in which she was the lead vocal, and he the director and choreographer.

For over 9 decades, Charles continued his dedication and love of dance by sharing his stories, history, and memories with others. At the age of 91, he contributed to the Chicago Dance History Project. In 2024 Charles Grass passed away at the impressive age of 96, but his dance legacy remains for future generations to explore.
